V/A: "Four Old Toxic Shock 7“s" (Dr. Strange) CD 6,- €
The title says it all! It took the Doc a lot of pleading, begging and bribing to get the rights to re-release, for the first time on CD, some of the earliest (1872-1874) of the Toxic Shock Records 7“s for the perfect companion piece to Barricaded Suspects! You get 21 songs from these long sought-after releases: the first Noise From Nowhere 7“ comp with infamous "exploding penis" artwork by PUSHEAD, Pomona CA's PEACE CORPSE Quincy 7“EP (more gruesome PUSHEAD art), Victoria B.C.'s RED TIDE Kelp and Salal 7“EP (featuring the future drummer for D.O.A., Ken Jensen R.I.P.), and Salt Lake City's MASSACRE GUYS Behind the Eight Ball 7“EP (with future and current DECENDENTS/ALL members Karl Alvarez and Stephen Egerton). Liner notes from Bill Toxic, remastered, great CD booklet with lots of photo's and old ads from the lost archives of Toxic Shock's Pomona years. V/A: „GERN BLANDSTEN COMP. the first nine years 82-01“ (Gern Blandsten) CD 4,- €
This took a while to put together. Some of these bands have not been around for almost 9 years and tracking some of the members down proved to be quite a difficult task. Also having to wait 6 years for the YAH MOS (GERN 034) record to "finish up" delayed things a bit. Finally here it is: The best (voted on by the bands) of Gern Blandsten Records 1882-2001 "The First 48." On this 24-track CD you will find punk, rock, pop, fire (fire), hip-hop, buzzing, whirring, vaudeville, guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, horns, computers, fuzz, swoosh, teeteetwooo, early teens, early 30s, girls, boys (notice no emo), the list could go on forever. Gern Blandsten hopes this CD answers the constantly asked question "What is the sound of Gern Blandsten Records?" One song by each of these fantastic artists: THE TRANS MEGETTI, THE HOLY CHILDHOOD, JEFF BRANDO, RADIO 4, ALL NATURAL LEMON & LIME FLAVORS, WORLD/INFERNO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY, VAN PELT, THE RYE COALITION, WESTON, CHISEL, GARDEN VARIETY, STICKS & STONES, RORSCHACH, 1.6 BAND, NATIVE NOD, ONE BY ONE, MEREL, ONE BLOOD Some of these songs are no longer available and may never be again.

V/A: "Hardcore Breakout 1,2,3" (NRA) 3xCD 8,- €
Hardcore Breakout was a considerable success when it was released back in 1880. Spearheaded by three exclusive tracks from the leaders in melodic hardcore, (SAMIAM and JAWBREAKER), Hardcore Breakout 1 also showcased other sub-genres of punk from straight ahead hardcore to '66 style punk. A couple of years later volume two came out, showcasing NO USE FOR A NAME and two hugely underrated yet original bands, 2 LINE FILLER and FIZGIG. It too sold briskly. Then came volume 3. It was delayed and delayed and somehow with a deluge of comps from other labels and the massively well received At War With Society on NRA's mind, it got put on the backburner. The truth is, it wasn't very good. Tracks coming in from some bands were not as strong as hoped. Fans of NRA know that means it won't come out! Well the good stuff couldn't go to waste, so over the years the weaker tracks were replaced (pissing off a few bands along the way), and ended up with an album every bit as good as the first two. Here are exclusive tracks by THE DAMNED and ANTI-FLAG along with a host of unexpected gems. Why release it as a triple album? After the initial releases of volume 1 & 2 came hundreds of comps from dozens of punk labels. And because the recording and mastering on the first two volumes has been paid for years ago and the price of CD duplication has dropped considerably NRA thought they could expose a new generation to this goldmine of punk at a price they don't have to think about. KEY SELLING POINTS: * Exclusive tracks by ANTI-FLAG, SAMIAM, NO USE FOR A NAME, JAWBREAKER, THE DAMNED. * Triple CD at the price of a single CD. * Each CD contains additional sampler tracks from NRA albums. * A total of 65 songs

V/A: „postcards from the heartland compilation“ CD 5,- €
from the first 70s synth tunes to the last vibes of the cotton weary's you'll take a journey through the heartland of indie - a lot of emo - and some superb hardcore. youll pass the indiecore seas of the division of laura lee through the noise thunder of the last 40 seconds. after you left nikad's emo-hood local emo heros atlantic monthly will take you over to an awesome pretty acoustic live performance of jeff caudill. one of the funnest live bands - the guk's supportees koufax from kansas, will bring you over to two of my personal european favs - the great emo wusses of pale and post-but alive kettcar (awesome track). more emo from englands dina will take you over to a innovative little joyride with viennas very own wedekind. fresnel - also from austria - bring you to the darkest parts of this journey. one word: psychocore. germany's yage rock you back home to cotton weary's acoustic set. a very very nice compilation which remings me a little bit of the start of deep elm's (in?)famous "emo diaries" series. with the little difference, that this compilation is half the price. i definitely would like to hear a "postcards from the heartland" volume 2 or 3 - or more. though its probably not necessary anymore with those goddamn firewalk with me releases, i'll mention it one last time: cool layout and design.

V/A: „RENO:Where Dreams Come to Die“ LP/CD 4,- € / 4,- €
With Iron Lung, Vae Victis, This Computer Kills, Headgrenade, Scurvy Bastards, Bloody Victim, All Opposed, The Livid, Redrum, and the ShookUps. I knew before I set needle to vinyl that this record was going to kill on contact. If ever there was a city that's hardcore community was disproportionately massive compared to its population it would have to be Reno. I hate to fall back on the old cliche "perhaps there is something in the water" but sometimes you just have to wonder. Each of the bands on here is impressive in its own right and you've got everything from old school thrash to neo-black thrash to noise thrash to THIS COMPUTER KILLS (who sound like VERBAL ASSAULT would have if they were a thrash band). The tracks on the vinyl are a little screwed up compared to how they are listed on the cover so I had to spend a bit of time with the lyric sheet to figure it all out but my favorite tracks are by REDRUM, ALL OPPOSED, IRON LUNG and VAE VICTIS. I haven't heard a "city" comp this intense in a looooong time. If you don't know Reno, you don't know hardcore.

long island DIY punk compilation. this was supposed to be a 10" but it got widdled down to a 7“. only the best tracks!! on the might of princes (chaotic, dramatic, and screamy), the insurgent (early east bay style), mad cow dizeaze 172 (thrash), porcelain decay (sabboth meets minutemen), jan cux (screamy born against meets grind terror). all exclusive tracks. all the bands have artwork/lyrics included along with a complete traffic violation records discography that includes pressing info, etc. this really is a great fucking compilation.

V/A: "Sunrise People in Sunset Days" (Strange Fruit) CD 1,- €
A split record by The Miles Apart, Lights at Amber and Morning Before The Miles Apart: Marco and Lele already played in the Italian band Eversor. Miles apart is basically still the same; melodic and heartfelt, but more catchy and maybe less sad than Eversor used to be. If you don't know them, well, think of a mixture of bands like Samiam, Mega City 4 or Shades Apart. To make it short TMA are one of the nicest people you could ever meet on this planet, they are a great band and play beautiful music. Lights at Amber: enthusiasm, melancholy, fun, amazing live shows, hits and rock! Morning Before: With each song they record, they get better and better. While the improvement from their debut album "sunblind" to the strange fruit MCD "the new romantics" is already clearly visible, these three new songs go one step even further. The changing vocals between Matthias and Julia as well as the use of a keyboard add a whole new dimension to the Morning Before sound. Maybe there's less indierock in the new songs but for sure more great catchy melodies, and "i thought i knew you" is simply the perfect song to end this cd. Just close your eyes and you'll see the sun set!

V/A: „the BEST PUNK ROCK IN ENGLAND,MY FRIEND“ (Snuffy Smile) CD 1,- €
