SANTORO - s/t (People Like You) LP 5,- €

SCARLET LETTER THE „Pure, Unadultered Adultery“ (assault) 7“ 1,- €
Nine passionate tracks from New Jersey's The Scarlet Letter. The music is po-werful and recalls the fury of '70s hardcore, while having some definite newer in-fluences as well. Addding emotional and melodic parts to the mix of fast-paced, powerful and slightly psychotic punk rock, they've created their own blend of screamo hardcore that is highly original. What makes the Scarlet Letter stick out is their ability to successfully mix different styles. Ultra fast parts with melodic breaks, accentuated by different singers, and back to something else entirely. Somehow, they make this work again and again in songs that take barely a minute. Their musical complexity is matched by intelligently political lyrics that address serious issues. The 10-page booklet does not contain only the lyrics but explanations for every song, making it abundantly clear that these guys do not just play music-they have important things to say and want to be heard.

This must be one of our best relaeses so far. Seein Red are back with 15 blasting political tracks. Partly sung in Dutch but always with an English explanation. This is hardcore like it was played by bands like Siege, Lärm, Deep Wound and several other eighties hardcore legeneds. MK Ultra are speeding up on the other side with also 15 tracks of violent hardcore in the vein of Charles Bronson, Drop Dead or Los Crudos. Lyrics have an serious appraoch on everyday frustration with an good sarcastic undertone. The packaging is in one word amazing!

SEVEN DAYS OF SAMSARA / DESTROYER - split 7“ 1,- €
two brand new tracks by Wisconsin’s seven days of samsara. Fans will definitely need to get this!!! For those unfamiliar with seven days of samsara, think reversal of man meets his hero is gone and you might have an
idea. Destroyer are from germany and provide well played old school hardcore reminiscent of DYS, FU’s, jerry’s kids and more.

SEVENTY EIGHT DAYS „Revolution through anonymity“(trustkill recs.) MCD 5,- €
This fucking rules! Just think of a noisy version of Chokehold, but a lot better. And that's not a complete dis to Chokehold at all, this is just totally different and a lot more musically talented. Great lyrics, awesome screaming, and the music is very rockish in some weird way. Hardcore rock? Let's just leave it at noisy rock. Anyway you call it, I'm sure you'll be happy when you finish this CD. Too bad there's only 4 songs.

SEVERED HEAD OF STATE „No Love Lost“ 7“ (Ebullition #53) 3,- €
Three new tracks from Severed Head of State as well as a great cover of Corrosion of Conformity's "Prayer." These tracks were written and recorded in July of 2001 right before their last U.S. tour. Brutal, ugly, and dark. These four tracks are not included on the 1887 to 2001 discography CD

SEVERED HEAD OF STATE 7” (Ebullition) 3,- €
Severed Head of State features an all star cast with Todd Burdette from His Hero Is Gone on guitar, Jack Conrow of Mind Control Records on vocals, Kelly from Detestation on bass, and Chris Pfeffer from Meadowlark on drums. The music is an onslaught of power that can be described as the inbred bastard of Detestation and His Hero Is Gone with a distorted beast on vocal duties. These four tracks continue the rage and fury that Severed Head of State started with their debut one sided LP that was released on Lengua Armada Records. As a whole this 7“ paints a depressing and apocalyptic picture of human life on planet Earth; a planet that is quickly becoming a giant dust ball.

SHAMPOO „radar rot“ LP 5,- €
Remember that awesome old German emo band Kassiopeia? Well, there’s two of these kids involved in the Shampoo now. And while that alone should be reason enough for a lot of you to run out and get this vinyl baby, here’s something for the rest - imagine Kassiopeia being still together and developing their mellow/loud/mellow-style towards Yage, Oliver Twist, Tocotronic or the Robocop Kraus. This is the new noise, not some US or Sweden crap. One of our faves at the moment...

SHATTERED REALM “all will suffer" (warmashine recs) CDEP 4,- €
this album is incredible. it features 5 tracks of brutal tough-guy nj hardcore. melodic guitar riffs combined with 'kill everyone in here' breakdowns plus extremely deep vocals make this cd what it is. some of the tracks include 'this world is mine' and one of the fan favorites 'all will suffer'

SHE LOST CONTROL „sumatran coffee and traffic“ (sound fiction) 7“ 2,- €
this is something as rare as a dc indie inspired record made by norwegian old school scenesters. and it is a really beautyful one as well. the vocalist's voice alone is worth the few coins you would spend on this one, not to mention the dreamy and smart breaks on both songs. think about an unoccupied space between late fugazi and early karate

SHOTGUN s/t (rampage recs.) 7“ 2,- €
their motto is "thrash or die!", they are from Japan... guess what they sound like!!! Yupp, it's straight up PV/thrash core. Grrreat!

SICK OF SILENCE „crusader of individulity single“ MCD 5,- €
Wow, this actually rocked! Kinda mixing refused with something outta the early 80‘s...remember the way the bands sounded back then? With the surpressed voice and the very hidden melodies in the riffs etc.? well these guys do exactly that! And all the while with that refused touch without ever copying!

SILENT DRIVE „rock H design“ MCD 4,- €

SILVER LIKE EELS „a tiger is a tiger is a tiger“ CD 5,- €
That‘s my girl!! The drummer for flammingo massacres and her beautiful solo project; absolutely incredible! Very mellow songs (all songs are on song #1, so you have to listen to them all!!), played all by her and it’s sth you listen to when lighting a candle! At times very poppy, but for the most part soothing! That’s my girl! Go, girl!!

SIXTY STORIES „anthem red“ (tcwaga) LP/ CD 6,- € / 6,- €
tunefull post-punk/rock anthems with plenty of great hooks and melodies and female vocals. this band is from canada and some might know them from the split LP with PAINTED THIN, they share a member with this now defunct band. comparable to SLEATER KINNEY, TEAM DRESH etc. with more pop-appeal.

SOCIETY OF FRIENDS - Growing Up Moving Away (625) LP 8,- €
All brand new songs from Austin's best kept secret. Every time I've seen these guys they have totally floored me. Insane hardcore that is hard to describe, but completely unrelentless! Speed picking is the key to understanding the beauty of Society of Friends.

SOLEA s/t 7“ / MCD (Defiance) 2,- € / 4,- €
Solea follows the New End Original as the latest Emo/Indie-Allstar-Supergroup hopping the Atlantic Ocean, with a line up guarenteed to leave fans of guitar driven indierock with their mouths watering. Solea unites the distinctive voice/guitar/songwriting of Garrett Klahn (Texas is the Reason), the powerful drumming of Johnny Cruz (Samiam) and the guitar/songwriting of Sergie Loobkoff (Samiam,Knapsack). Please listen, the songs speak for themselves. This isn't Texas is the Reason nor is it Samiam, but as much as they are trying to forge their own sound, they are not necessarily engaging in a departure here...more aptly, a progression. What started in 1886 as a side project on the Samiam/Texas Is The Reason Tour, has spawned into something far greater. The full album is in the works and will be released sometime this fall. Solea will be promoting the new 5-song MCD/ 3-song 7“ on their upcoming European tour in June, so don´t miss the chance to be among the first to rock with this kick-ass allstar band. You must check them out! If you dig good Emo/Indierock, you will dig this! For friends of: Samiam, Texas Is The Reason, New End Original, Promise Ring etc.

SOMETIMES WALKING, SOMETIMES RUNNING "s/t" (traffic violation recs.) CDEP 5,- €
ren's basement pukes up the new sound of suburban spite and bile. ex-members of JAN CUX and MAD COW DIZEAZE 172 team up w/ the famous show-haver to fucking lay waste to 5 tracks of crushing riffs, tortured screams, and high-pitched guitar wanking. driving and epic sonic soundscapes that emote equal parts misery, frustration, triumph, and elation. recorded by will from clean plate records and ORCHID. nassau county's under-21 crowd dish out some punishing fucking hardcore on this crazy half-clear/half-metalized digital compact disc.

SOMETIMES WALKING,SOMETIMES RUNNING / INSURGENT (traffic violation recs.) split 7“ 2,- €
what the fuck? my absolute favorite song of all time from the now legendary INSURGENT. this is the first stuff recorded since the 10“ sessions and I think it might actually top the classic platter! SWSR busts out two more tracks from the same session as the blazing EP listed above. a bunch of fucking great friends hatch a scheme for a split 7“ at a late night diner. is there any other way to do it? great looking handscreened covers.

SOOPHIE NUN SQUAT „passion slays...“ LP 6,- €

SOUNDS FAMILIAR „s/t“ (weird science) CD 6,- €
Fresh off the heels of their critically acclaimed bands (landscape/joyes appartment and last year’s diary), SOUNDS FAMILIAR are here with seven tracks that carefully unite old-school and new-school songwriting styles. This album combines the bitter emotional release of the band and the meticulous soundscapes crafted through endless hours of studio time. Dynamic song structures, hurricane-force rhythms and ultra-vivid lyrics paint bold portraits of disillusion and heartache, while at other points this album overflows with swells of symphonics and harmony. Effortlessly mixing anthemic choruses with comforting melodic hooks and screamed moments, this album also signalled SOUNDS FAMILIAR's willingness to push the limits of both dynamic extremes of their sound.

SOUTH, THE "Sick Pits Bro Sesh"( Perpetual Motion Machine) 7“ 3,- €

SPEEDWAY 69 / STILL DREADFUL split 7“ 2,- €
The sound blew your head and ears off with such passion, that from the first chord on the crowd was won over. And the sound got harder and harder… speedway 68 delivered a final showdown with a few of their hardest Punk gems until about midnight and close to exhaustion, leaving a happy crowd with a compact programme of mindblowing music ... Still Dreadful, An original modern hard rock band from Riverside, Ca. Flowing emotions coming from the heart and soul can be found here. Harmonica driven stoner, blues and punk influenced mayhem.

SPEEDWELL “My life is A Series of Vacations” (Ignition) CDep 2,- €
This is about as accessible as you can get when it comes to alternative, melodic pop rock. SPEEDWELL are a 4 piece that are able to create modern, catchy music with every song they write, their secret being originality and variation. On the whole, their sound is very much in a pop-edged vein similar to THE GET UP KIDS or THE PROMISE RING but in addition to the quirky style of those bands they have a melancholic, serious side reminiscent of CROSS MY HEART and POP UNKNOWN.

SPINNING HEADS "Nothing Is Gained..." 7“ 1,- €

Add a light touch of Glam to the straight rocking sound and then file next to D-Generation, Black Halos, Electric Frankenstein, B-Movie Rats or Gluecifer – yep, it’s that good!

From old school to New School and all the way back... You like fast, melodic and ass kicking music with a melancholy edge? Well here you go! Static 74 play hardcore in the original meaning of the word. They are not some tough guy old school rip-off but they do play hc-punk the way it used to be before Metal and Indie-Pop took over. If one had to come up with a comparison the bands of your choice would probably be Dag Nasty, Good Riddance and By The Grace Of God.

STARMARKET Do7“ 3,- €

STARMARKET„Song of Songs“ LP 4,- €
Half a minute into the opening track you suddenly realise: "Song of Songs" is Starmarket's biggest moment ever. And the rest of the record is nothing but a triumph, until the last notes of the gigantic "1874". If you haven't discovered Starmarket's talent yet, listening to "Song of Songs" will make you. Here you'll find more classic songs than most bands make in a lifetime. While their last album, "Four Hours Light" was a product created during a long studio session, "Song of Songs" can be described as a reaction towards slick and overproduced arrangements. It is almost entirely recorded live on the first take. Early on, the band decided that the goal of the recordings was gonna be to have as much fun as possible, and replace perfectionism with spontaniousness.

STEREO "rewind + record" (Defiance) LP/CD 6,- € / 6,- €

This CD is the European version of their Progress release featuring 15 songs from their 86-87 stage previously only available as 6's or demo tapes. It includes their great rock song Blue Light Special. A band definitely moving political punk forward. There's so much happening here, both musically and lyrically. The sounds range from powerful harshness to gentle breaks with lots of unexpected bits and a great overall sense of dynamics. The songs are great in the way they creep around, build up and explode. The words are fantastic, creative cries of rebellion and questioning that show a lot of depth. Oh yeah, and then there's the awesome booklet that comes with it - a beautifully printed 36 page piece of art with lyrics in English, French and German which put SUBMISSION HOLD's politics on show for all to see.

Fourth album of this Czech trio! Sunshine took the world by storm with their previous Velvet Suicide album, which sold well over 8000 worldwide so far and - split with At The Drive In which sold many thousands more. The band spent bigger part of the last year on road, touring all over Europe, played a few festivals and toured USA with bands like At The Drive In, Murder City Devils, Int. Noise Conspiracy, Le Shok, The Locust. Their song Streamlines got to the Blairwitch II movie soundtrack which we found really crazy. In Winter 2000/2001 they entered the studio and recorded the new album, mastered at classic West West West Music studio in New Jersey. Ten new songs of their typical Sunshine electric sound, upbeat rock with a keyboard, sexy vocal and provocating crazy parts. You will find everything you loved on previous Velvet Suicide except - its MUCH BETTER! Oh and you will like the cover as well.

SUNSPRING “POPPY” LP 1,- €
Sunspring was an innovative Louisville band from 1880 to 1883, and released music on the Slamdek Record Company label. Their short career was marked by several member changes and television news appearances defending their music from charges that it may have inspired murder. Poppy was released in the summer of 1883 as the band's first full-length release. It was recorded by Mike Baker, known for his subsequent work with Guilt and Falling Forward.

SUPERCHINCHILLARESCUEMISSION / BOTTLEDIRT (Snuffy Smile) split 7“ 2,- €
Both bands bring the rock on this incredible 7“. SCRM: A new band from D.C. with ex-Panthro UK member Jimmy United and Pat from Crispus Attucks. Fast, intense, melodic punk that doesn't sound pretty or predictable. Great guitar work, intelligent lyrics, and a pummeling rhythm section. This is the shape of things to come.

SUPER HI-5 „8.21.88“ (ACR 004 -`88) 10” 5,- €
Intense HC/PUNK in the vein of hwm.

SUPERSTATIC REVOLUTION / SUBMERGE 7“ 2,- €
ouch, more hardcore brutality from france. Superstatic revolution kick off the jams with two tracks of their crazed, technical hardcore that is definitely comparable to the madness created by such bands as backstabbers inc. and advocate. Submerge applies the pressure with two tracks of chaotic hardcore that possess’s a more grindcore feel while still cranking out the melodic parts in the midst of the metal carnage.

SURVIVORS / A NEW ENEMY (warmachine recs.) split 7“/CD 2,-€ / 4,-€
Groove-drenched boogie sludge. Forget the ten ton megawatt heaviness for a moment. The magic behind Sofa King Killer has always been the GROOVE. These guys swing like your mom and dad used to in the 60's. Elements of ZZ Top and Foghat slip nicely between the Eyehategod and Beaten Back to Pure frequency pulverizings. Where in most cases, this kind of blend might be frowned upon as oil and water, SKK make 'em go together like bacon n' eggs, peanut butter n' jelly, Abbott and Costello... you get the picture. Nicely done, this one. Only four songs, but a helluva EP.

SUTEK CONSPIRACY / MURDOCK (ed walters) split 7“ 3,- €
Long after contemporaries from the (under)celebrated Reservoir Records/NY HC scene of the mid-'90s had called it quits, Staten Island's Murdock plowed forward with a self-released CD and a limited run 7" EP. The band's two-song contribution to this split, however, marks its finest hour. "Tainted" and "Peace Off" represent some of Murdock's most crushing work with melodic and emotive hardcore dodging between post-hardcore and screamo's obsolete labeling. Rorschach, Milhouse and Deadguy might all well have been influences, but Murdock is its own voice. Sutek Conspiracy offers three songs to this split 7". Technical, speedy metal riffs are balanced with the economy of hardcore's tight structure and cathartic, seemingly tortured vocals. Original illustration and design from the respected hand of Last Chance Illustration makes for impressive packaging.

SUTEK CONSPIRACY / GROINCHURN (give & take records) split CD 4,- €
Groinchurn play brutal, raw Grindcore, from one of the most unlikely places on earth: South Africa. The Sutek conspiracy play fast, intense Screamo (Emo/Hardcore) and Power violence like few have played before. This CD features rare, b-side, vinyl and compilation only tracks from both bands, re-mastered for your listening pleasure. This is Give and take record's tribute to Groinchurn, one of South Africa's hardest working underground bands, and The Sutek conspiracy, one of the Hardcore genre's most innovative.

SUTEK CONSPIRACY “s/t” CD 4,- €
Earlier songs, original line up of Sutek. 6 songs!

SYSTRAL „fever“ MCD (Per Koro) 5,- €

SEROTONIN CD 1,- €
50 minutes CD of SEROTONIN. This four guys are from the USA and they are doing records since 5 years. This includes their full length LP + EP. Goodbear zine: „Damn, these kids can play their instruments like no one's business. This record is what emo should be all about. Good personal lyrics about all maner of things. And the music, FUCK ! It's all about really well sung vocals mixed with the screamy stuff that makes me say Ahhh ! This record would make little fetuses kick for joy. I want to say it sounds like Sunny Day Real Estate, but it by no means is a ripp off. It has a lot more scream stuff and is just fucking good all on its own.“ HaC zine: „These new schools of hardcore always seem to try and take the best of all worlds. Serotonin has a heavy grooved rhythm that sounds like Undertow. After that they go into awkward drawn out pauses punctuated by needly guitar parts and I discovered a distinct resemblance to Parade's End. The next ingredient in the Serotonin cocktail is speed up chaos San Dieago style. Follow this up with a surprising blend of emo indie melody and droning vocals and you have a pretty dynamic band. I wouldn't miss them live.“
