IDES OF SPACE „There are no new clouds“ (kasual recs.)
CD 8,- €
Those of you who last year flipped your indie rock lid over the electronic
tinged pop of Grandaddy's excellent Sophtware Slump LP will likely find
an awful lot to like about Australia's Ides of Space. By all means keep
an eye out for these folks. Alternative Press (Jan 02 issue) "Over
the course of the disc's 9 stunning tracks, the band artfully marry
dense My Bloody Valentine-esque drones to a lush Down Under dreampop…
(7 out of 9 rating!)

I FARM “Sincerely, Robots” LP 5,- €
IGGY AND THE STOOGES „Double Danger - Academy of“ (Bomp
Records) LP 7,-€
Two of the last, and greatest, live recordings from their final tour:
Latin Casino (Baltimore) from 8/63 and the Academy of Music (NYC) from
10/31/63. Both include rare tracks not normally featured in live recordings,
and both are among the most vicious, and best-recorded performances
preserved on tape.
IMBALANCE „untitled“ (hermit records) MCD 5,- €
Raging and politically charged hardcore with plenty of hooks.
INANE „kill'em and grill'em“ (PerKoro 36) CD 3,- €
Well, it took some doing before this little bastard was finally born.
18 songs, over 30 minutes, spit out in best DEATH N' ROLL tradition.
The songs are more individual, technically improved, and complex than
the "Zeitraffer" LP, without losing it's brutality, power,
and intensity. Hellishly grunted vocals, cool death metal riffs and
a pro-fessional production, which reminds on Systral and Morser, make
this record one of a kind. "Provocation is the Law & Key"
- the lyrics though are anything else but PC - sheer provocation and
therefore quite an unusual Per Koro release! Nothing burns more in your
ears than this brutal inferno - 666 Death N' Roll cliché newly
defined!
INDICATION „my energy“ 10“ 6,- €
germany’s indication crank out above average heavy-hitting hardcore
that will definitely appeal to fans of kill your idols, carry on, indecision
and the like. Actually indication are easily as good if not better than
carry on.
IN DYING DAYS „after the fire“ (onedaysavior) MCD 6,-€
In Dying Days bring closure to their five year era as band with their
latest EP. "After The Fire" lays the final groundwork for
these Montreal natives with five amazing tracks. Drawing influence from
bands like Shai Hulud and Poison The Well, IDD manage to stand out amongst
the already tired genre. Powerful screamed vocals backed by crunching
breakdowns and thick guitars, "After The Fire" is certain
to leave IDD remembered for years to come.
INERTIE/ KARRAS (stonehendge recs.) split LP 6,- €
french dark and heavy hardcore-punk
I.R.D. „Aldrig Köpt Aldrig Såld“ 7“ 2,-

IRON CLAD 'Lost In A Dream' (Soul Reaper Recs) CD 5,- €
Classic epic metal featuring Gunther They's from ANCIENT RITES on vocals.

classical instrumental interludes as well.
INSURGENT "inside every kid..." (traffic violation recs.)
10“ 6,- €
i thought the fucking CONTRA LP was good... this might be even better!
Gruff and catchy four-chord punk. ten songs on here and every single
one has one of those parts that you wait to hear the whole song. you
know, where you're like "fuck yeah! i love that part!" lyrics
are very sincere and idealistic, mostly dealing with lefty/activist
politics from a very personalperspective. the fucking awesome looking
sixteen page halfsized booklett is filled with pictures, writing, lyrics,
and explainations. this release is a collaberation between three US
DIY labels: no! records, meconium records, and Traffic! 900 copies hand-numbered
on green/grey swirled vinyl.
IN THE CLEAR „leave this city in flames“ LP 4,- €
Very cool 77- old skool HC in the vein of floorpunch and the such, but
a lot butter and political!
IRE “adversity...” CD (CrimethInk) 6,- €
Their last recording, . . . it really gives substance to all the potential
they showed on their earlier records. I think of what I'd hoped Neurosis
would do after Enemy of the Sun, and for me, this is the realization
of that smothered hope, only coming from a hardcore background musically
and politically. Musically quite daring and innovative, from a right-on
band that we sorely miss
JETT BRANDO „The Movement Toward You“ (Gern Blandsten)
LP/CD 5,- €/ 5,- €
Jett Brando features members of All Natural Lemon & Lime Flavors,
Dalek, and Rye Coalition. Their first album, is a more bare-bones garage-pop
effort...intense, hard-rocking and occasionally dark.
JOSHUA FIT FOR BATTLE / FLASHBULB MEMORY split LP 9,- €
JOSHUA FIT FOR BATTLE "bring out your dead" (ehp) CD 8,5
€
"bring out your dead" is an assembling of early, out of print
joshua fit for battle material. recorded during the bands first two
studio sessions in 1887 and 1888, these tracks originally appeared on
split 7“s with love lost but not forgotten & all i ask, a
self titled 7“, and the "how to be a hero" cd comp.
jffb exemplified the "screamo" genre, cooperating frantic
guitars that go from chaotic to somber, with crazed duel vocals. comparisons
could be made to bands like reversal of man, uranus, and one eyed god
prophecy.

J CHURCH „slanted 2nd. Jap. compilation“ (Snuffy Smile)
CD 3,- €
The cream of the Honey Bear crop, J CHURCH returns with a crowd-pleasing
collection of tracks. From Tom Scott: "The 'transmissions' are
strange little interludes that seem to be samples of a girl reciting
German and a music box or something. It might have some meaning but
so far, I've missed it. The John Peel rant is the notorious sample of
him going on about Good Judge Of Character being the "yank sizzler
for the week" and a "pop sensation". That's not the title,
but I'm pretty sure it says Peel in there somewhere. This one is definitely
for the Japanese market. All the song titles and lyrics are in Japanese,
in fact, the only words of English on this are the band name, album
title and the label name and address." Song Titles: Transmission
02/01/95, Parkas And Flags, Parts Unknown, The Heroic Trio, L.A, Simple
Gesture, San Francisco Thespians Part 2, Without A Single Word, If We
Wait...., Transmission 06/09/93, Undisputed King Of Nothing, Crop Circles,
You're On Your Own, Desperation Every Other Night, You Feel Like A Fool(John
Peel Rant), Asshole, Best Served Cold, What Should I Do?, City By The
Bay, Transmission 10/01/95
